“The architecture of a home world”

As an artist from Ladakh, my work is deeply inspired by Ladakh's traditional, sustainable architecture, which uses local materials like stone and earth. I revisit this knowledge in a contemporary way, often using simple, discarded materials like cardboard and egg trays to create sculptures of mountains and homes. These fragile materials reflect the ecological vulnerability of our landscape, a core theme in my practice. I received the National Award at the 64th National Exhibition of Art (2025) and I'm representing India at La Biennale di Venezia (2026).
