Shipping Policy
Last updated: 30th July 2026
This policy applies to purchases made through quietart.com. In this policy, “Quiet Art Movement Private Limited” is referred to as “Quiet Art”, “QAM”, “we”, “us” or “our”. Nothing in this policy limits any right or remedy that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
Order processing
Every artwork on quietart.com is either an original, one-of-a-kind piece or a limited-edition artwork available in a fixed number of editions. Once an order is placed, our team confirms availability of the relevant artwork or edition and prepares the work for dispatch.
For artworks already in our possession, orders are typically prepared for dispatch within 3–5 business days after cleared payment and order acceptance.
For artworks held at the artist’s studio, we first arrange collection and carry out a condition and quality check before packing. This may take longer. We will provide an expected processing and delivery timeline after confirming availability and notify you if it changes materially.
“Business day” means Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays observed at our place of business. “Dispatch” occurs when the packaged artwork is handed to the carrier.
Packaging
Artworks are packed by trained handlers using materials and methods appropriate to the work’s medium, dimensions, condition and destination. Any framing, glazing, mounting, crating or special installation included in the purchase will be identified in the listing or order confirmation.
Delivery timelines
Delivery timelines depend on where the artwork is coming from (our storage or the artist's studio), the destination, and the mode of transport used. An estimated delivery window will be shared with you once the order is confirmed and again at the time of dispatch.
As a general guide:
- Domestic (India): typically 10-12 business days from dispatch.
- International: typically two to four weeks from dispatch, depending on destination and customs clearance.
These periods are estimates unless we expressly confirm a guaranteed delivery date in writing. Delivery may be affected by artist or studio location, carrier disruption, customs procedures, extreme weather, government restrictions or other events outside our reasonable control. If a material delay occurs, we will notify you and provide a revised estimate. Any right to cancel because of delay will be determined by the circumstances and applicable law.
Shipping charges and international orders
Applicable shipping charges are shown at checkout or otherwise communicated before order acceptance. They may reflect the artwork’s dimensions, weight, packaging requirements, value and destination.
For international orders, customs duties, import taxes, brokerage fees and similar charges are the recipient’s responsibility unless the checkout or order confirmation expressly states that they are included. Unless otherwise agreed, the recipient is responsible for providing information and documents reasonably required for customs clearance. Shipment remains subject to applicable export, import, sanctions, cultural-property and carrier restrictions.
If delivery fails because the recipient refuses or fails to pay disclosed import charges, provide required clearance documents, or accept delivery, we may deduct reasonable, documented and non-recoverable return freight, storage, customs or re-export costs from any refund, to the extent permitted by law. No deduction will be made where the failure results from our error or information we failed to disclose before purchase. An abandoned shipment may not be recoverable or refundable if it is disposed of by a carrier or authority, subject to applicable law.
Any additional shipping, handling, insurance, customs, warehousing or regulatory charges arising after order confirmation due to customer requests, destination changes or legal requirements shall be borne by the customer.
Tracking
After dispatch, we will email the carrier’s details and a tracking number where one is provided. Specialist art-logistics services may provide delivery updates without conventional online tracking.
Risk, title and insurance
Risk of physical loss or damage remains with us until the artwork is delivered to you or a person authorised by you to receive it. Title passes only after full cleared payment and delivery, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Shipments are insured up to the amount stated in the order confirmation or invoice, subject to applicable insurance terms.
Damage in transit
Please inspect the package promptly on delivery. If there is visible damage, note it on the delivery record where possible, photograph the package before opening it, and retain the artwork, box or crate, labels and all internal packaging.
Report suspected transit damage to connect@quietart.com as soon as possible and preferably within 48 hours after delivery. Include the order number, photographs of the outer and internal packaging, shipping labels and artwork, and a brief description of the damage. We strongly recommend recording the opening of the shipment, particularly where the outer packaging appears damaged. Failure to provide a video will not, by itself, invalidate a claim, although it may affect our ability to verify its cause.
Prompt notice helps us investigate and pursue a carrier or insurance claim. Reporting after 48 hours does not limit any right that cannot legally be excluded, although delay may make the cause or extent of damage harder to verify. Please do not discard packaging, return the artwork, or arrange repair or conservation without our written instructions.
Incorrect, defective or misdescribed artwork
Contact us promptly if you receive the wrong artwork; it has material damage or a defect not disclosed before purchase; it differs materially from its listing or order confirmation; an included frame, component or certificate is missing; or you have a substantiated concern regarding authenticity or attribution.
We may request photographs, video, an inspection or other information reasonably necessary to assess the issue. Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the remedy may include conservation or repair at our cost and with your agreement, return and refund, reimbursement of reasonable approved costs, or such other remedy as may be determined by QAM in compliance with applicable law. Because each artwork is unique, an identical replacement will generally not be possible. Where return is authorised because of our error, transit damage or another qualifying issue, we will provide instructions and bear reasonable authorised return-shipping costs.
Refunds
Approved refunds will ordinarily be made to the original payment method. Unless another period is required by law, we will initiate the refund within 7–10 business days after approval or, where a return is required, after receiving and inspecting the returned artwork. We will not deduct cancellation or return charges where cancellation or return results from our breach, an incorrect, damaged, defective or materially misdescribed artwork, or another circumstance in which a deduction is prohibited.
Delivery address
Please provide a complete, accurate, secure and accessible delivery address, a working telephone number and relevant access instructions. We are not responsible for delay caused by incorrect or incomplete information supplied by the customer. If delivery fails because the recipient is unavailable or because of customer-supplied information, the customer may be responsible, where legally permitted, for reasonable and documented re-delivery, return or storage costs. This does not apply where failed delivery results from our error or a failure for which we are legally responsible. Where re-delivery is required due to customer error or unavailability, revised delivery timelines shall apply.
